Valentina Cattivelli is an enthusiastic researcher, lecturer and policy analyst. She had a Phd in Economics and Management for Agricultural System at Università Cattolica di Milano and now is a senior researcher at Eurac Research in Bolzano.
During her university studies, she has worked as policy analyst at Provincia di Cremona and Regione Lombardia. In these two positions, she was responsible for programming, planning and monitoring local activities, policies and results, with particular reference to local development and territorial marketing.
She taught at several Italian universities (Ferrara, Parma, Verona and Politecnico di Milano) and collaborated with Wageningen University, Ersaf Lombardia and ISMEA in research activities with focus on urban-rural governance relations, economic evaluation of conservative agriculture and policies to support female and young farmers.
Her research interests are in the regional economy and regional policies for local and rural development. She has presented several papers, also in international conferences, on the topics of relationships between urban and rural areas, and she is the author of three books on the same subjects.
